Dear first-year students, subject and university transfer students,
Welcome to Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz! We in the student advising office for educational science would like to assure you that we will do everything we can to make your start as smooth as possible.
We can imagine that you have many questions, and we hope that we can answer some of them in the presentations available for download below. In order to be able to advise you in the best possible way on your questions even without personal contact during the welcome event and consultation hours, we are of course available by e-mail and telephone.
We would also like to welcome you in person. We would like to make this possible by holding a joint introductory event in person.

Here you will find a presentation with the most important information for first-year Bachelor’s and Master’s students. It contains information on the course structure, how to log in to courses and other important instructions for the beginning of studies at JGU.

During the advising session, fellow students from the student council will help you with your timetable and answer any questions you may have about the beginning of studies. Advising takes place after the introductory events:

- Advising master’s degree program, 21.10.2025, 14:00-16:00 in the Philosophicum (Jakob-Welder-Weg 18, 55128 Mainz)
