You can log in to the oral examinations via JOGU-StINe. You can choose your preferred examiner. However, in the event of an unequal distribution of registrations, the examiners may be assigned by lottery. The final examiner allocation will be announced via JOGU-StINe message as soon as the allocation has been made.

Oral module examinations generally last 20 minutes in the bachelor’s program and 30 minutes in the master’s degree program. These are held either in person or digitally. Various platforms – MS Teams, Skype for Business and BigBlueButton – are available for digital oral examinations. You will be informed about the actual technical implementation in good time in advance by your examiner. Face-to-face examinations usually take place in the examiners’ offices.

Regardless of whether the examination is actually conducted digitally or in person, a minute-taker will sit in alongside the examiner.

The topics and procedure of the examination will be discussed directly with your examiner. The exam-relevant topics will either be communicated during the respective courses or by other means (e.g. via JOGU-StINe). If in doubt, please contact your examiner.

For face-to-face examinations, please be present on campus in good time before the examination date. As with the exams, please ensure that you do not take any cell phones or smartphones with you to the examination.

If you are unable to attend the oral examination due to illness or other valid reasons, please inform the student advising office as soon as possible and submit your medical certificate or other proof immediately. The medical certificate can be issued informally by a doctor, provided it contains all the information on the certificate form. It is important that in the event of illness it is confirmed that the examination candidate is NOT ABLE TO TAKE the examination in question. Certificates that merely certify an inability to work will not be recognized. If you are absent from the examination without excuse, the examination will be graded as “insufficient” (5.0). In this case, you can take the re-sit examination in the examination phase of the following semester at the earliest. You will then have to log in again. You will not be automatically logged in for the re-sit examination by the student advising office.
